Vitamin MePA Testimonials

Joe Bielecki completed a Master of Science degree as a student of Dr. Aardsma in 1994. Joe sent the following feedback with his request for a second bottle of Dr. Aardsma's Vitamin MePA Dietary Supplement.

Joe: February 25, 2018

I think I am a fairly healthy middle-aged man. My BMI is between 25 and 27.

I am in the habit of running daily (one day of rest a week). I have completed over 20 marathons in the last 20 years. No major health issues, but in the July 2016 I developed a bad case of plantar fasciitis. [PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis: painful inflammation of a thick band of tissue running under the heel bone to the toes; higher incidence in runners.] This caused me to take some time off from running in late 2016.

I saw a doctor about it after three months of suffering. The doctor advised some stretching exercises and recommended I wear a night splint.

For the third visit in January 2017, the doctor gave me a cortisone shot. I also started taking daily reservatrol, fish oil, and turmeric curcumin.

At first there was some improvement after the shot (in the spring of last year), but it hit a plateau. I started running daily again even with pain. On the days that it was too painful, I substituted the elliptical machine. Last summer, I still had strong pain at times.

November 1, 2017 is my start date for taking MePA. I think that it has been a factor in my plantar fasciitis recovery. It is hard to attribute the recovery completely to MePA, because MePA has only been in my system since November 1, 2017. MePA and the "cocktail" of fish oil, curcumin, resveratrol, and epimedium/icariins for inflammation I think are together a major factor in the healing though.

From a running pace perspective, before the injury, my everyday pace for 6 miles was 8:30 min/mi. Last year at this time, my pace was about a painful 11 min/mi. Summer last year, my pace was about 10 min/mi (less painful). I ran a half marathon in the fall (October 15) just to finish. My pace was 10:10 min/mi for 13.1 miles. Today, with very little pain, I can approach an average pace of 9:30 min/mi for my daily runs, especially on the treadmill.

I also notice I'm sleeping better.

I notice this winter that my skin (i.e., hands, elbows) is not as dry and cracked as it is normally. My scalp, as well, is not as dry this winter.

Dr. Aardsma replied to Joe with the following question, "Back at ICR (long ago and far away) you were having trouble with migraines, as I recall. Have you noticed any change in this area since starting to take MePA?"

Joe responded:

I have not had a migraine since I started taking MePA. I did have at least two migraines in the first half of 2017.
